Christina

Hi! I’m Christina and I was born and raised in Washington state. I am a born and bred Gonzaga Basketball and University of Washington Football fan. I completed my undergraduate degree in Education, Communities, and Organizations at the University of Washington in Seattle, and I am now in my last year of graduate school at the New York University Silver School of Social Work. In my free time, I love seeing live music and biking! Also, I am a twin!
My “why”: I am a first-generation college student, and I know what this journey entails: struggle, achieving goals, defying expectations, and becoming the person we were meant to be. The first-gen experience is not always easy, and I would like to help other first-generation students find belonging and community.
Favorite Reality TV Show: Terrace House
Elan

I’m Elan, and I was born and raised with my slightly younger twin brothers in Florida where we had to worry about alligators on a daily basis. Now, having lived in New York City for fourteen years, I thankfully have considerably fewer alligator concerns and two more considerably younger baby brothers. I received my undergraduate degree in Creative Writing online from Southern New Hampshire University with additional coursework in Education, and I am now in my final year of graduate school at the New York University Silver School of Social Work. In my spare time, I enjoy arts and crafts of all kinds, and am actually currently in the process of crocheting myself a sweater.
My “why”: We all need a safe place–a safe person–to see and accept us as we are and to support us as we move toward the life we want. I want to be that person for others.
Favorite Reality TV Show: RuPaul’s Drag Race, and Drag Race ‘España’ is my favorite spin-off.
Bella

Hi! My name is Bella, and I was raised in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. I have one little brother. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Redlands in southern California, and I am currently in my second year of school at the New York University Silver School of Social Work. In my free time, I could usually be found sitting at a coffee shop with a Matcha and a good book, window shopping, or sitting around with friends.
My “why”: I have a deep fascination and love for interpersonal relationships. I believe in the power they have to make the world a better place. I could never get bored doing this work.
Favorite Reality TV Show: The Real Housewives of New Jersey
Taylor

My name is Taylor and I was raised with my older brother and sister in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I completed my undergraduate degree in life Sciences at Queen’s University in Canada and am now in my second year of school at the NYU Silver School of Social Work. When I am not in school or working, hanging out with friends, eating good food, and listening to music, is typically how you can find me.
My “why”: During my undergrad, is when I discovered my passion for cognitive neuroscience and mental health. I am a strong mental health advocate and am hoping to pursue a career in mental health counseling, specifically providing psychotherapy to clients in need. My drive comes from my deep enthusiasm for helping others.
