- Massage Therapy Certificate Program
Do what you love and help others through the art of ancient healing. Mildred Elley’s Massage Therapy Schools in Albany, NY, Pittsfield, MA and Manhattan, NY offer you the education, practice and skills necessary to get started in the massage therapy profession. The program satisfies the academic requirements to qualify massage therapy graduates for the New York State Massage Therapy Examination.
During massage therapy courses, the student will learn how to manually manipulate the soft body tissue through different massage therapy techniques. Curriculum will focus on manipulation of the muscles, connective tissue, tendons and ligaments for relaxation and rehabilitation. Students will have the opportunity to work with patients hands-on in the school’s massage therapy clinics located at each campus.
Employment of massage therapists is projected to grow 24 percent from 2016 to 2026 according to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics †, much faster than the average for all occupations. Continued growth in the demand for massage services will lead to new openings for massage therapists.
