Mildred Elley, a private two-year college in the County of Albany, with a branch campus in Pittsfield, Mass., is seeking adjunct faculty to teach in its Department of Health and Wellness for its Pittsfield, MA campus.

Looking for Clinical Medical Instructors to teach the following classes:

Medical Insurance: This Course will introduce students to common insurance carrier, government programs, legal issues, and related health standards of the health care industry. Students learn medical billing procedures, claims processing, and basic skills in diagnostic and procedural coding. Students are provided with application exercises from commonly used medical billing forms and documents used in medical office environments.

Medical Office Management: In this course, students learn the standards, skills and procedures that are performed by administrative medical assistants. Practical experience is given in medical information and record management, scheduling appointments, medical office finances, and written and verbal communications. Role-playing is utilized to increase critical thinking skills in simulated office situations.


Diagnostic and Procedural Coding: The advanced course in medical coding instructs students in the proper ICD-9-CM coding and CPT-4 coding techniques. Students develop the ability to abstract pertinent information from patient records in order to code accurately.

Requirements:
Professional certification OR proof of coursework in above field(s) and proof of 2-4 years documentable work experience in the field of Medical Insurance or Medical Office Management is required. Bachelor's degree in field, or an Associate's degree plus licensure/certification is a highly desirable.

Compensation:
Varies, based on qualifications and experience.
