Description:
Mildred Elley, a private two-year college in the County of Albany, with a branch campus in Pittsfield, Mass., is seeking adjunct faculty to teach in its Department of Nursing at the college’s Albany, NY campus. Two positions are available:
Full-time nursing instructor and clinical coordinator - Responsibilities would be to coordinate student clinical experiences and some classroom teaching.
Part-time adjunct faculty - primary responsibility would be to teach practical nursing students in the clinical setting and lab. Teach lectures, conduct discussions and supervise college lab classes; supervise clinical practices of groups (8-10) of students in off-campus clinical sites; correlate classroom and practice learning with objectives; plan course for the term in line with objectives; plan for evaluation of laboratory in course; discussion of students' nursing care plans or assignments; prepare grades for submission to the department chair; and review students' progress on an individual and/or group basis.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in nursing required, Master's degree in nursing strongly preferred. New York State license to practice and three years nursing service experience. Previous college or hospital teaching experience. Candidate must be knowledgeable, organized and flexible. Day, evening and weekend positions are available, but flexibility will be needed. Medical surgical skills must be at least three years experience.
