Description:
Mildred Elley, a private two-year college and equal opportunity employer in the County of Albany, with a branch campus in Pittsfield, MA, is seeking a Director of the Office of Academic Support and Advising at the college’s Pittsfield Campus. This is a full-time position (M-F, with some weekends).
Successful candidate will be responsible for managing and providing effective academic skills assessment and support in the areas of college reading and writing, quantitative skills, information literacy, critical thinking, independent learning, time management and study skills, and ESL services, with a focus on student's success in achieving the goal of completing their program. Also, will oversee advising programs for special populations (ATB, probation, disabilities). Will work closely with the college-wide team of academic services directors, faculty, and administration to design resources and delivery of programs, and uses college technology resources to support and track services and outcomes.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in related field required; Master's degree or candidacy for one preferred. Higher education, advising, or counseling experience required. Experience working in a diverse environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office and desktop publishing. Comfortable working with adult learners and students with disabilities preferred. Must have excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation:
Varies, based on qualifications and experience.
