Description:
Mildred Elley, a private two-year college and equal opportunity employer in the County of Albany, with a branch campus in Pittsfield, MA, is seeking a Chair of the Nursing Department at the college’s Pittsfield, MA Campus.
Chair will oversee the LPN and related programs, and be responsible for intructional and related activities, staffing, and curriculum development of the programs offered by the Department. Supervise and mentor adjunct and full-time faculty, advise students, participate as appropriate in College's standing and ad hoc committees, and assure program quality and continuous development. Additionally, the Chair will establish formal clinical affiliation agreements with clinical sites, reaching out to other two- and four-year institutions in establishing articulation agreements for LPN to RN/BSN and Medical Assisting to LPN, and maintain relationships with programmatic accrediting bodies and nursing organizations.
NOTE: Filling this position is dependent on regulatory approval of the LPN program.
Requirements:
The successful candidate must be an experienced nurse educator, holding a graduate degree with a major in nursing and licensed as an R.N. by the State of Massachusetts for a minimum of five years. Must have five to seven years of clinical experience as an R.N., with experience in administrative and teaching roles in nursing education are preferred. Candidates with alternative qualifications are invited to submit their CVs and expressions of interest for the pool of future didactic and clinical faculty positions in the program.
Compensation:
Varies, based on qualifications and experience.
