MILDRED ELLEY'S PITTSFIELD CAMPUS PLANS NEW PRACTICAL NURSE CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
September 30, 2013 (Pittsfield, MA) – The Mildred Elley family of colleges and schools is pleased to announce that ACICS and the Massachusetts Department of Education have approved a new Practical Nurse Certificate program at its Mildred Elley Pittsfield Campus.
“We are extremely excited to bring this program to our Pittsfield campus,” said Faith Takes President of Mildred Elley. “Healthcare is one of the fastest growing career fields in the nation and with an aging baby boomer population there is going to be an increased need for Practical Nurses and other healthcare workers. In fact, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says employment for Licensed Practical Nurses is expected to grow 22% by 2020.

Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy delivers the keynote address
February 28, 2013 (Albany, NY) – Mildred Elley held its commencement on February 28, 2013 at the Albany Marriott located at 189 Wolf Road. About eighty students received certificates or degrees from several different programs including Practical Nursing; Paralegal Studies; and Business Management.
Daniel McCoy is Albany County's fourth County Executive. He was born, raised and resides in the capital city of Albany where he has worked as a public servant his entire professional career. He was a firefighter and EMT for the Albany County Airport and the City of Albany and is currently a member of the New York National Guard where he has earned the rank of Sergeant 1st class. County Executive McCoy was deployed to Iraq in 2006 and most recently aided in the disaster relief following Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee.
MILDRED ELLEY’S EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION PROGRAM HOSTS “PROJECT: SEE THE LIGHT” PEACE VIGIL AND WALK
February 21, 2013 (Pittsfield, MA ) – On February 21, 2013 Mildred Elley Pittsfield's Early Childhood Education Program hosted Project: See the Light, a vigil walk and peace ceremony, which was open to the entire community. The vigil honored students and teachers who have been killed in schools while pursuing their dream of an education or being an educator. After a short program at the campus, participants walked to Park Square and released laterns to honor the memory of those lost.
MILDRED ELLEY PITTSFIELD ANNOUNCES NEW EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS
February 1, 2013 (Pittsfield, MA) – Mildred Elley Pittsfield is now offering scholarships for its groundbreaking Early Childhood Education Certificate program.
The Certificate in Early Childhood Education program is approved by the Massachusetts Department of Education and the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) and also follows the National Association for Education of Young Children (NAEYC) guidelines for early childhood learning. It is the first Certificate program in Early Childhood Education in the Commonwealth to align with EEC standards.
