Office of the President
Message from the President
For nearly a century, Mildred Elley has provided thousands of women and men with the education and training that is necessary to succeed in today's world.
Mildred Elley was established in 1917 in Albany, New York. In 1985 I became President of the Mildred Elley School and within ten years I grew enrolment from thirty-seven students to over five hundred students. In 1991, I established a branch campus in Pittsfield, Massachusetts and then in May of 2010, our newest Mildred Elley campus opened its doors in New York City. Today, the student population of both campuses totals over 1500 students.
Many of our students come directly out of high school, while others have been in the workplace for several years and know it's time to make a career change. Students enroll at Mildred Elley to learn marketable skills or improve existing job skills in a variety of fields like business, information technology, paralegal, medical and nursing, massage, criminal justice, digital media arts, and management. Graduates of our Associate's Degree and Certificate programs are successfully employed in many of the largest corporations in our campus communities; some start their own businesses. Many of our graduates eventually decide to continue their education and go on to receive bachelor's and beyond.
Whether your decision represents a first step or a second chance to obtain a quality education, you will emerge well prepared to meet the challenges of the workplace. You can be assured of a future that is both promising and rewarding. Mildred Elley-offering career training for today’s world.
With wishes of success in your career and your life,
Faith A. Takes, President
