Mildred Elley to Hold Commencement

Albany Campus to Graduate 130 Students

August 11, 2011 (Albany, NY) – Mildred Elley will hold its commencement on Friday, August 12, 2011 at Chancellor’s Hall in the New York State Education Building in downtown Albany. One hundred and thirty students will receive certificates or degrees from several different programs including Practical Nursing; Paralegal Studies; and Game Design and 3D Animation.

Tina Gerardi, Chief Executive Officer of the New York State Nurses Association, will deliver the keynote address.

The New York State Nurses Association is the oldest and the largest professional nurses association in the United States and represents the interests of over 250,000 registered professional nurses. It is also New York's largest union solely dedicated to promoting the interests of RNs and their patients. Ms. Gerardi is a registered nurse with over twenty-five years of health care and association executive experience in several non-profit professional trade associations. She is also a published author and lecturer on emergency response, nurse staffing, clinical pathways, continuous quality improvement methods, case management and managed care.

Commencement ceremonies will also include the presentation of awards including the Excellence In Teaching Award and Academic Achievement Awards.

Others have always had a passion to pursue another vocation, and some are the first in their families to receive a degree or certificate. We wish them well in their future endeavors.”
